Teacher Naturalist Training

March 25, 2019 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:00 am on Monday, repeating until April 1, 2019

Are you passionate and dedicated to teaching and passing on your love of nature to the next generation of environmentalists? Do you have a background in childhood education or natural sciences? Are you excited about getting children out into nature, experiencing and observing the world through guided lessons?

Then become a teacher naturalist with Bucks Audubon! We are looking to add to our part-time/seasonal staff of paid teacher naturalists to help teach during our school field trips, camps, programs, and special events!

By completing this 2 day training, you will gain the knowledge needed to educate students, using Inquiry-based science, about the Honey Hollow Watershed, Insects, Animals, Habitats, and more! You do NOT need to be a scientist or know about every single type of plant, insect, or animal of Bucks County – we provide training and encourage you to use field guides and share them with the children that come through the center. It is more important that you can guide and facilitate learning and help teach children how to think, observe, and experience the natural world.

Please come dressed for the weather (as a Teacher Naturalist, we teach in all weather, rain or shine!) and wear appropriate shoes. We will provide you with lesson plans, outlines, and training tools, but you may want to bring a notebook to take notes if you’d like.

Registration is free, but required so that we can plan accordingly for materials. Click here to sign up!
